The Vention COQBL is a 10 metre USB 2.0 printer cable, Type-A male to Type-B male, for connecting a printer, scanner or multifunction machine to a PC that sits well away from it. The conductor is tinned oxygen-free copper in a 24+28 AWG arrangement, under double shielding of aluminium foil, metal braid and a ground layer, with a thickened PVC jacket rated at 2A. Two magnetic rings are fitted to suppress interference over the distance, which is where a long USB run normally starts to struggle. Transfer follows the USB 2.0 High-Speed rate of 480 Mbps, ample for print jobs and scans. It is a passive cable with no booster or repeater chip inside, so there is nothing to power and nothing to configure. Ten metres suits an office where the printer lives in a corner or a corridor rather than beside the desk, a shop counter with the machine behind it, or a home setup where the printer sits in another room to keep the noise down. Run it once along a wall or through a conduit and the printer stays connected without a network setup, a print server, or files carried back and forth on a stick.
