The Vention AACBG is a 1.5-metre HDMI cable for short runs between a screen and whatever sits right beside it: a set-top box, a laptop, a console or a media player. It follows the HDMI 2.0 standard and stays backward compatible with HDMI 1.4, so it drops straight into older televisions and monitors without any change to your setup. Video tops out at 3840×2160 (4K@60Hz) with bandwidth up to 18 Gbps, which leaves headroom for 4K sources alongside 3D, ARC, HEC and Dolby TrueHD-class audio returned to a soundbar or receiver. The connectors are 24K gold-plated male-to-male, the conductor is CCS in a 28AWG and 30AWG arrangement, and the core is wrapped in aluminium foil plus a metal braid to keep interference out. A PVC jacket over a 5.0mm cable diameter keeps it flexible enough to route behind a wall-mounted panel. At 1.5 metres it suits a monitor fed by a laptop on the same desk, a television with the box on the same shelf, or a projector mounted close to its source. The gold plating and the foil-and-braid shield earn their keep in humid rooms, where cheaper cables corrode at the plug and start dropping signal. A one-year warranty applies.
