Overview

The AWEI F31 is a bladeless neck fan: a hands-free personal cooler that hangs over the shoulders and pushes air up around the neck and face while both your hands stay free. With no exposed blades in the airflow path, there is nothing for hair or fingers to catch on, which makes it far easier to hand to a child or wear in a crowd than a spinning-blade fan. A 1200mAh battery runs it for more than 6 hours on a charge and refills over USB Type-C, from the same cable and charger as your phone. Five adjustable speed settings run from a light breeze up to a strong wind mode, and an LED digital display shows the setting at a glance rather than making you count button presses. The ABS housing keeps the whole thing to around 305g, light enough that it stops registering on your shoulders after a few minutes. It earns its place in a Bangladeshi summer: the walk to campus, a long bus commute, standing in a queue at a market, or a desk during load-shedding when the ceiling fan has stopped and the room turns still. Because the fan sits on the shoulders rather than in a hand, you can carry bags, ride pillion, cook or work through a shift with cool air still moving past your face.
