Cooler Master MWE Gold 850 V2 Power Supply

The Cooler Master MWE Gold 850 V2 is a fully modular 850 W power supply, the component every other part of a desktop depends on and the one builders most often under-buy. It is aimed at builds with a serious graphics card, where the machine has to hold steady through hours of load rather than merely start up. Efficiency is rated at 80 PLUS Gold, so less of the power drawn from the wall is wasted as heat inside the case, which in turn keeps fan speeds and running costs down. Connectors run to one 12VHPWR lead plus six 6+2 pin PCIe cables, enough for a current flagship card and the one after it, and because the unit is fully modular you fit only the cables the build actually uses. A 140 mm fluid dynamic bearing fan handles cooling. Cooler Master covers it with a ten-year warranty. Headroom is the whole point of a supply like this. It suits a high-end gaming rig or a workstation with a single powerful card today and a heavier one planned later, where buying the capacity once is cheaper than replacing the supply alongside the card. The modular cabling keeps the inside of the case clear for airflow, and the ten-year warranty covers this build and the one after it.
