The Ubiquiti UniFi AP AC Long Range (UAP-AC-LR) is an indoor access point for spaces a consumer router cannot cover on its own — an office floor, a guest house, a restaurant or a multi-storey home where the signal thins out well before the walls end. It mounts flat to a ceiling or wall and disappears into the room. It is dual-band 802.11ac (Wi-Fi 5) with combined throughput of up to 1317 Mbps, made up of 450 Mbps on 2.4GHz and 867 Mbps on 5GHz, using 3×3 MIMO with dedicated radio chains for each band. Long-range coverage reaches up to about 183 m (600 ft) and a single AP holds up to 200 concurrent client devices. Power and data share one cable: a Gigabit Ethernet port fed by 24V passive PoE, with the adapter and the mounting bracket supplied. Draw is around 6.5W, so it sips power even running around the clock. Management runs through the free UniFi Network Controller software or app, and that is what separates it from a domestic router. Add a second and a third AP later and they run as one network under one controller, with clients roaming between them on a single name and a single password. That makes it a sensible base for an office, a campus building or a hospitality floor that expects to grow rather than stay still. It carries a one year warranty.
