UGREEN Adjustable Width Vertical Laptop Stand LP258 (20471), Single Slot

The UGREEN LP258 (20471) is a vertical laptop stand that holds one closed laptop or tablet upright on the desk instead of lying flat, returning the surface area a full-size machine otherwise swallows. This is the single-slot version of the LP258 design. The body is aluminium alloy in a metal grey finish, with one vertical slot whose width is set by a knob and adjusts across a 12mm to 26mm thickness range, so it grips a slim ultrabook and a thicker gaming laptop equally well. It takes machines up to 15.6 inches. The frame is hollow for ventilation, so heat can escape rather than build up between the shell and the stand, and silicone padding lines both the slot and the base to prevent scratches and stop the stand sliding on a smooth desk. It measures 150 x 78 x 50mm and weighs about 176g. It is a fixed desktop stand rather than a folding one, and there is no cable channel built into it. It earns its place on a clamshell desk setup — the lid closed, an external monitor, keyboard and mouse doing the work — and on any desk where the laptop is not the machine in use that hour. In a small office or a student room where desk space is the scarce resource, standing the laptop on its edge frees up room for notes, a second screen or simply somewhere to put a cup of tea. It carries a one year warranty.
