- Chemistry: Lithium-ion (Li-ion), not alkaline or NiMH
- Voltage: 1.5V nominal, regulated/constant output (typical of this battery category, unlike 1.2V NiMH)
- Category-typical capacity: ~400-1100mWh per cell, based on comparable branded USB-C Li-ion AAA products
- Category-typical cycle life: 1000-1200+ recharge cycles for comparable products
The full spec sheet
This is a rechargeable AAA battery built on lithium-ion chemistry rather than the alkaline or NiMH cells most pencil batteries use. It goes into the same devices as an ordinary AAA and is recharged and put back into service instead of being thrown away once it runs flat. The important difference is voltage. The cell holds a regulated 1.5V output, matching what an alkaline AAA supplies, where a NiMH rechargeable works at 1.2V. Devices designed around alkaline voltage — remotes, small torches, digital instruments and wireless peripherals — therefore run at the level they were built for rather than at the lower voltage a nickel-based cell provides. It is a sensible swap for anything in the house or office that gets through pencil batteries: a TV remote in daily use, a wireless mouse or keyboard on a desk, a wall clock, or a small torch kept ready for a load-shedding evening. Keep a charged spare beside the one in use and the battery drawer never runs empty, with no trip out for a fresh pack at an awkward moment.
