MSI MAG A650BN 650W 80+ Bronze Power Supply

The MSI MAG A650BN is a 650 W desktop power supply with 80 PLUS Bronze efficiency, the safe floor for a build running a single mid-range graphics card and with enough headroom left to take a stronger card later. Capacity is 650 W, and the 80 PLUS Bronze rating means less of what comes out of the wall is wasted as heat inside the case. Three 6+2 pin PCIe connectors are provided, which covers a single-card build now and the multi-connector cards that come after it. The unit is non-modular, so every cable is fixed to the housing: nothing to lose in a drawer, at the cost of a little more tidying at build time. A 120 mm HDB fan handles cooling, moving air at low speed rather than spinning hard. It suits a first build or a mid-life upgrade where the graphics card and processor deserve the attention and the power supply simply has to be dependable. Everything else in a desktop depends on this component behaving, so it is not the place to cut corners, particularly where mains supply is uneven and a machine is switched on and off around load-shedding. MSI backs it with a 5 year warranty.
