Overview

This is a pair of Maxell AAA alkaline batteries, the LR03 cell used by most slim remotes, wireless keyboards and small household electronics. Each pack contains 2 cells. The chemistry is alkaline manganese dioxide, non-rechargeable, at a nominal 1.5V per cell, in a leakproof construction that is free of mercury and cadmium. Physically they are the standard AAA size, about 10.5mm in diameter and 44.5mm tall, so they drop into anything that takes AAA without fuss, and unused cells hold their charge in storage for years. They are aimed at low-to-medium drain devices: television and air-conditioner remotes, wireless keyboards and mice, torches, digital thermometers, small toys and clocks. Leakproof construction matters most in the devices you forget about, such as the spare remote in a drawer or the clock on a back wall, where a leaking cell can quietly ruin the contacts. Keeping a pair spare means the remote is never the reason the evening stops.
