This is a pair of Maxell AA alkaline batteries, the standard LR6 cell that powers most of the everyday electronics around a home or office. Each pack holds 2 cells, ready to drop into a remote, a wall clock, a wireless keyboard or a torch. The chemistry is alkaline manganese dioxide, non-rechargeable, at a nominal 1.5V per cell, with a rated capacity of around 2,100mAh measured at a 100mA continuous discharge down to a 0.9V cutoff. Construction is mercury and cadmium free. Each cell is the standard AA size at roughly 14.5mm across and 50.5mm tall, weighing about 23g, so it fits anything designed for AA without packing or trimming. These suit low-to-medium drain devices rather than power-hungry ones: television and air-conditioner remotes, wall and table clocks, children's toys, torches, wireless mice and keyboards, and kitchen scales. In a humid climate it is worth keeping spares sealed until you need them, and taking the cells out of anything that will sit unused for months. Buying a pair at a time keeps a spare set in the drawer without leaving cells to age unused.
