This C13-to-C14 lead is a power extension cable for IEC-fitted equipment. It relays power along an existing run, taking a feed from a UPS output or a power supply's monitor-out socket and delivering it to a device with a standard C13 input. One end is an IEC 60320 C13 female connector, the other an IEC C14 male plug, the back-to-back pairing that lets the cable join onto a C13 cord or draw from a C14 outlet. It is rated 250V AC at 10-13A, built on a copper core in a black PVC jacket, and cut to 1.8m (6ft), the standard length between a PC and a monitor or a UPS. The usual jobs are running a UPS output across to a PC, taking a power supply's monitor-out socket to a display, or daisy-chaining a C13 run in a rack or under a desk where the original cord falls short. It is the tidy answer to a workstation where the sockets sit at the wrong end of the table, and a useful spare in any office with a UPS on every desk, since it saves running a second mains lead back to the wall.
